MY STORY
CHILDHOOD
I endured two severe surgeries shortly after birth. With poor health, I was a timid boy from a poor family, often bullied by classmates and neighbors' kids. While in high school, one day I made up my mind to overcome all obstacles to turn my life around. I started by running every morning and taking a cold shower in the evening. I persevered until I became healthy and strong. At some point, I learned the martial arts of Wing Chun.
APPRENTICESHIP
Graduating from high school, I worked for the Pearl River Piano Factory in Guangzhou China. I started at the wood processing department, often lifting wood of over 100 lb to several meters high. Later I was selected and recruited by the tuning department.
Due to my enthusiasm in piano, I broke the record of tuning 72 pianos in one day. Soon I was promoted to the the position of Director. In 1994,the Pearl River Piano Factory produced its first grand piano of GP-159, I was appointed by the factory to tune its very first grand piano.
ART OF TUNING
To sharpen my tuning skills, in 2003 I moved to the States, where I received my degree of Artist Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory, Ohio. As a PTG- registered piano tuner and certified piano tuner for Steinway & Sons, I opened the German Piano City to provide quality pianos at affordable prices so that decent instruments become accessible to everyone. In my spare time, I provide tuning service and pianos to local events to give back to the community.
